fonts to eternally avoid.

some fonts make my eyes get buggy… they are outdated, overused, not aesthetically pleasing to the majority of us. so, after much research, recently released books on fonts by design experts that i trust — i put together my own list. a list of fonts i avoid at all costs.

so, in an attempt to reel in these awful side effects — i am vowing to write up this post and then do a MASSIVE DELETE of these fonts from my laptop! this makes me happy.

if you use these fonts on your site – consider a swift & quick edit!! if i happen on your site with one of these fonts, i’ll grab a copy of the image for future referencing!

saying goodbye to byAimee.com is bittersweet. my fingers naturally type out that URL…it’s been 5 years. WAIT! stop! how did this happen? where did 5 years go?

almost 2 years ago life changed around here…

i had to accept that i could not tackle both design + development. i could not do it ALL and do it WELL… and if you know me, doing anything less than 100% is not an option. after being burned by my only developer contact, i was extremely hesitant to reach out for help again, yet i had no choice!

so, naturally, i went trolling on twitter. back then i was brand new to twitter & “twittiquette” and had ZERO clue what i was doing. i searched for a WordPress developer and up pops this guy: @Japster24. claiming to save one blogger at a time with a swift move to WordPress.

he recently admitted that after receiving my plea for help that he was hesitant to work with another designer after a less than good time in his recent past.

… but he did. and i’m glad he did. (learn more about JP HERE!)

2 years later we’re taking this design & development firm to the next level.

this brand…

after 5 months of working through the details and trying to find extra time to work on this site (often at 1am when my other project deadlines are met for the night) we are FINALLY ready.

we come as a team. we deliver as a team. uniquely smart in our areas of expertise while combining new skills, encouraging fresh ideas + spurring each other to be better with each new design we launch…

Over the past few years I have worked with Aimee & Co on several projects, from blog buttons to full page ads. When it was time to rebrand, there was no question in my mind that Aimee and her team would be running this project as well. Initially I told Aimee that I wanted to move from a simple boutique site to a wonderful WordPress website complete with both my shop and blog. No other changes were planned at that time. Then…

… One morning I spoke with Aimee and I had made up my mind that if we were re-branding we were doing it all. I trusted Aimee’s skill and loved her style, it was simple to talk through ideas and give her an idea were to start building our new look. When she presented the new look I was amazed and in love. It was perfect and I couldn’t think of a thing to change. Aimee and JP so an amazing job on every project, have great communication with their clients and come in on time. I love when someone compliments me on my new site and I get to hand them one of Anchored Design’s business cards.
